KABUL (HIA), led by Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal, on Sunday asked President Hamid Karzai to expose the elements he had accused of hatching conspiracies against the country.

At a news conference in Kabul a day earlier, Karzai claimed several foreign countries were in a bid to fuel anarchy in Afghanistan by trying to promote a federal system there. He said such efforts had been ongoing over past six months, but the endeavours would not come to fruition.

In his biweekly radio address to the nation on Thursday, the president claimed foiling an anti-Afghanistan plot with his administration’s timely reaction to the way the Taliban’s office was inaugurated in Doha.

In a statement, the party urged the president to elaborate on the nature of the conspiracies and the people behind them. The people should not be confused, the HIA said, asking the Presidential Palace to come up with an explanation.

“The HIA being a political force would not allow anyone to hatch conspiracies against our long-suffering people or threaten Afghanistan’s territorial integrity and national unity,” the statement concluded.
