MAIMANA (PANinfo-icon): Five civilians, including four womeninfo-icon, were killed and two others wounded in a roadside bombing in the Pashtunkot district of northwestern Faryab province on Thursday, an official said.

The casualties occurred when a car struck a roadside bomb in the Surkhab village, the district’s administrative chief, Abdul Qadeer Qadiri, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He added all victims -- members of the same family -- were going to a local bazaar to purchase household items. He blamed the insurgents for planting the bomb ahead of a possible security operation in the area.
