KABUL): A private company’s luxury vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb in the Paghman district of Kabul, but passengers escaped unhurt, an official said on Tuesday.

The blast took place on Monday midnight when A Hilux car of Azim Sharifi Limited was struck by the bomb in Farmankhel village, deputy police chief, Col. Abdul Jamil, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He blamed the Insurgents for the bombing and an investigation into the incident had been launched. There was no immediate comment from the militants.

Hassibullah, an International Relief and Development (IRD) worker and resident of the area, said the explosion was high and that he saw a damaged stretch of the road.

The incident comes three weeks after a convoy of National Front leader Mohammad Mohaqiq was hit by a roadside bombing. Three civilians were killed and 30 others wounded.
