KABUL): President Hamid Karzai’s advisor Shujaul Mulk Jalala was appointed as new governor of eastern Kunar province on Monday, the Office of Administrative Affairs said.
He replaces Syed Fazlullah Wahidi, who was transferred to western Herat province last week. Karzai appointed Jalala on the Independent Directorate of Local Governance’s recommendation.
A former lawmaker from Kunar, Jalala has served a presidential advisor on tribal affairs. He also heads Jalala Foundation, a public welfare organisation.
