CHARIKARinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): The death toll from an armed conflict between two rival groups in the Jabalus Saraj district of central Parwan province has risen to nine, an official said on Saturday.

The casualties happened on Friday when the clash erupted between armed supporters of Ainuddin and Safa in Koz Kozar area, the district chief, Samandar Sikandari, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Ainuddin, his wife, a son, a brother and two bodyguards were killed during the clash that left one dead from the rival side, said the district chief.

Police had arrested Safa and were investigating the incident, but the motive behind the firefight was yet to be determined, Sekandari said
