CHAGHCHARAN/PUL-I-KHUMRI (PANinfo-icon): Three insurgents were killed by their own bomb in western Ghorinfo-icon province, while two others died in infighting in northern Baghlan province, officials said on Wednesday.

The blast took place on Tuesday night when the bomb the militants were planting on the Charsadda-Chaghcharan road exploded prematurely, the crime branch chief said.

Maj. Noor Ali Asiri, speaking to Pajhwok Afghan News, identified the dead as Maulviinfo-icon Wahid, Mullahinfo-icon Sharif and Abdul Qasim -- all notorious Talibaninfo-icon figures  in the area.

Two other fighters were killed on Tuesday afternoon in infighting in the Burka district of Baghlan province.

District chief, Abdul Jabbar Islami, confirmed the incident and said one of the dead was member of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU).

Islami accused the IMU militant of killing an influential local elder in Takhar province some days back. Later, the insurgent fled to Burka district.
