KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): Local and foreign investors are being invited to a big conference to be arranged in southern Kandahar province, the finance minister said on Thursday.
Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal, who attended a zonal conference in Kandahar City along with some other ministers on Wednesday, inspected some ongoing projects on Thursday.
During the trip, the minister visited the Spin Boldak district near the Pakistani border and was briefed on ongoing construction works at the dry port.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said customs offices were being constructed at a cost of $25 million and 80 percent of construction work on the projects had been completed. They would be ready in the near future. He said the structures would have all essential facilities.
On his return to Kandahar City, Zakhilwal inaugurated a new building for the provincial customs department, saying it cost more than half a million US dollars and had all allied administrative facilities.
About the security environment.
He announced a big conference, aimed at luring investment, would be arranged in Kandahar and would be attended by foreign and local investors.
