CHARIKAR): A district chief survived a roadside bombing in central Parwan province on Wednesday when a man was killed in a similar incident in the provincial capital.

The improvised explosive device (IED) happened in the Multani locality of the city at 4am, the provincial crime branch chief told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Col. Mohammad Naram identified the victim as Noor Aga, a resident of the area, who stepped on the landmine on his way to the mosque for Fajar (dawn) prayers.

Elsewhere in the province, the Koh-i-Safi district chief, Saifullah Baidar, escaped unhurt in a roadside bombing in Belan area. The official said his vehicle was damaged by the explosion.
