HEART CITY (PAN): Two kidnapped Iranian citizens were released as a result of a rescue operation by police in western Heart province, an official said on Thursday.
Both oil tanker drivers, the men were released 20 days after they were seized on the Herat-Islam Qala highway, the police chief, Brig. Gen. Rahmatullah Sapi, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Two suspects had been arrested on charges of kidnapping the Iranian nationals, he said, adding a search was underway for the rest of suspects in the case.
