Suicide bomber kills 1, injures 8

SHARAN (PAN): One man was killed and eight others were wounded during a suicide bombing in the Janikhel district of southeastern Paktika province, officials said on Thursday.

The assailant detonated the explosives strapped to his body in the main Katawazi bazaar around Iftar on Wednesday, a statement from the governor’s office said.

One civilian was killed in the explosion that left eight people, including a child, wounded. The injured were evacuated to the Sharan Civil Hospital. They are said to be in stable condition.
