ISLAMABAD (PAN‘s southwestern Balochistan province on Tuesday, officials said.

The individuals were seized last evening from mini vans in the Kashtari area near Mach sub-district, a local administrator told reporters. Their bodies were recovered from nearby mountains this morning.

Mach Assistant Commissioner Kashif Nabi said authorities were trying to establish the identities of the passengers, who were shot to death. The victims belonged to Sadiqabad, Rajanpur and other areas of Punjab province.

Passenger buses are normally escorted out of Balochistan by security personnel but an attack on an oil tanker in the area kept Balochistan Levies and Frontier Corps (FC) personnel engaged in a clash with insurgents.

One paramilitary officer lost his life while two others were injured during the crossfire, Kashif said, adding search operations were underway in the area.
