MP injured, daughter killed in Ghazni attack

GHAZNI CITY (PAN): A female lawmaker was injured and her daughter killed on Wednesday when suspected insurgents opened fire at their vehicle on a highway in southern Ghazni province, officials said.

The upper house member, Rooh Gul,  was travelling with family in a car on the Herat-Kabul highway when came under attack in an area situated between the Gilan and Maqur districts, Ghazni deputy governor Mohammad Ali Ahmadi told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Gul’s daughter and a security guard were killed and Gul and her husband sustained injuries in the gun attack that occurred around 9am.

Gul, who represents western Farah province in the Meshrano Jirga facility of foreign forces in Gilan in critical condition, Ahmadi said.
