KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): Four people have been killed and nearly 100 sustained injuries in traffic accidents during Eidul Fitr holidays in southern Kandahar province, officials said on Sunday.
Confirming the casualties, the provincial deputy public health director, Dr. Ahmadullah Faizi, told Pajhwok Afghan News of the injured, 45 were in critical condition.
They included women and children, he said, adding most of the accidents involved motorcycles.
Traffic police chief Col. Mohammadullah Khan said additional traffic police personnel had been deployed to many parts of Kandahar City on the occasion of Eidul Fitr.
He urged parents to prevent their underage children from biking that threatened their own and others lives.
