1 killed, 15 injured in Takhar hotel blast

TALUQAN (PAN): A blast inside a hotel killed one policeman and left 15 others, mostly civilians, injured in the Khwaja Bahauddin district of northern Takhar province on Wednesday, officials said.

The explosion that took place around 1pm apparently targeted the Afghan Local Police (ALP) members in a hotel in the district centre.

Police spokesman Abdul Khalil Aseer said one ALP personnel was killed and six ALP members and nine civilians were injured in the attack.

The governor’s spokesman, Salam Muradi, said the injured included two children and as many women.
