District education officer shot dead

JALALABAD (PAN officer in eastern Nangarhar province on Monday morning, an official said.

Azim Nayel, the Chaparhar district education officer, was gunned down on his way to Jalalabad in Hafizan area at 7am, the Education Department spokesman said.

Mohammad Asif Shinwari told Pajhwok Afghan News Nayel was asked to exit his vehicle before being shot to death. The provincial police said they were unaware of the incident.
