KABUL): In compliance with President Hamid Karzai’s instructions, the Ministry of Interior on Friday announced a minor reshuffle involving four provincial police chiefs and another security official.
Jawzjan police chief, Brig. Gen. Abdul Aziz Ghairat has been transferred to Panjsher in the same position, a statement from the Office of Administrative Affairs at the Presidential Palace said.
Brig. Gen. Mohammad Qaseem, the Panjsher police head, has been transferred to Nimroz province. Ministry of Interior official Col. Faqir Mohammad has been elevated as Jawzjan police chief.
By the same token, the statement said, former Nimroz police chief Brig. Gen. Mohammad Kabir Andarabi has been transferred to the interior ministry.
On Aug. 23, Nimroz Governor Mohammad Sarwar Subat told Pajhwok Afghan News Gen. Kabir Andarabi had been detained at the Kabul International Airport on the charge of collaborating with drug traffickers.
