FAIZABAD (PAN): A two-day exhibition showcasing drawings, paintings, calligraphic works and handcrafts was inaugurated in the capital of northeastern Badakhshan province on Monday.

The event has been arranged by the International Psychoanalytical Studies Organization (IPSO) in Faizabad to promote the culture and art works of Badakhshan residents, including children.

“We have collected pieces of art from residents and children and put them on display today,” said an IPSO official, Rukhsana Ghalib.

Abdul Hai Omari, an illustrator and calligrapher, said he found the show a good opportunity to share his artworks with people.

Women, who put their handicrafts on display, said such events had been beneficial in finding buyers for their products and encouraging their business.

“Such exhibitions encourage housewives to utilize their skills and make them more profitable,” said Rahima, a Faizabad resident.
