MoU on UNSC resolution 1325 extended in Kabul

KABUL, peace and security.

The extension was singed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kabul between Deputy Foreign Minister Ershad Ahmadi and Finish Ambassador to Afghanistan Ari Mäki in Kabul, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statment.

Speaking on the occasion, Ahmadi said Afghanistan was committed to implementing the resolution.

He recalled at the Kabul International Conference in 2010, Afghanistan put forward a number of national priority programnes (NPPs), including human rights and civil responsibilities.

The programmes included the implementation of a national action plan for the women of Afghanistan, peace and reintegration of Afghans, which had been ratified accordingly.

“Afghanistan is also committed to paving the ground for further participation of Afghan women in peace and security processes and in security sector as well. Our commitment to our international obligations is strong.”

This MoU was first time signed between Afghanistan and Finland on June 20, 2011, for the second time last year and for the third time on Saturday.
