MAZAR-I-SHARIF (PAN): Foreign Minister Zalmai Rassoul, also a likely presidential hopeful, has offered Balkh governor Atta Mohammad Noor the post of first vice-president in return for supporting his group in the upcoming presidential elections.
Noor’s spokesman Munir Farhad told Pajhwok Afghan News the governor would discuss the offer with the 14-party electoral alliance and would go by what the alliance decides in this regard.
He said Noor would not accept the offer if rejected by the alliance.
It is also said Mohammad Mohaqiq has been offered the post of second vice president.
