CHARIKAR claimed killing five Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers there.

The Taliban-designated chief for Tagab district, Mohibullah, was among the 13 fighters killed since Tuesday evening during an ongoing operation in Afghania and Ghindara areas of the district, a police officer said.

Col. Asadullah Hamidi told Pajhwok Afghan News the insurgents’ bodies were still lying at the scene of the operation that caused no harm to security personnel and civilians. So far 18 villages have been cleared of rebels.

On the other hand, the Taliban claimed killing five ANA soldiers and wounding several others during an attack on a military patrol in the area. But the group’s spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said nothing about the casualties inflicted on the guerrillas.
