KABUL): President Hamid Karzai on Friday inquired after the Afghan children wounded in a recent airstrike by foreign forces and bomb attacks by the insurgents.

Karzai visited a French military hospital in Kabul, where he inquired after the wounded children, particularly a 4-year-old girl named Ayesha, the Presidential Palace said.

The girl was wounded in an International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) drone strike in eastern Kunar province two weeks back. A dozen people, including eight members of Ayesha’s family were killed in the raid.

According to a statement from the Presidential Palace, Ayesha has lost both her eyes and a hand to the strike. With her face badly wounded, she remains unconscious.

Karzai directed doctors to send Ayesha abroad for better medical treatment. He also visited other children at hospital wounded in Taliban attacks. He asked doctors to provide them effective medical care.
