KABUL‘s law-enforcement personnel have detained nearly 50 Afghans for illegally entering the southwestern province of Balochistan, a media report said.
As many as 48 illegal Afghan immigrants were arrested by the Frontier Corps (FC) from a passenger bus in the Hazarganji area of Quetta, the provincial capital.
The news agency Associated Press of Pakistan quoted a spokesman for the paramilitary force as saying the Afghans had been held for entering the country without travel documents.
It added the detainees had been handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency, which will initiate legal proceedings against them under the Foreign Act.
Also on Monday, Minister for Borders and Northern Areas Abdul Qadir Baloch said Afghan refugees would voluntarily return to their country by 2015.
The repatriation of refugees depended on the situation in Afghanistan and that they would happily return to their country if conditions improved in their homeland, he told reporters.
