KABUL): A clash between civilians and illegal armed men over a land dispute left three people dead and sparked a protest demonstration in the Bagrami district of central Kabul province, an official said on Thursday.
The fire exchange took place in Shana Pla area near the district centre late on Wednesday, said the deputy provincial police chief, Daud Amin. The gunmen fled, but police have launched a search to apprehend them.
Following the clash, Amin said, hundreds of people staged a protest rally in Kamri area early on Thursday, blocking the road between Bagrami and Kabul City.
Senior officials, including the Kabul police chief, reached the area to bring the situation under control.
