Saudi Arabia promises continued support

KABUL): Foreign Minister Dr. Zalmai Rassoul met his Saudi counterpart Prince Saud Al-Faisal bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud on the sidelines of the 68th United Nations General Assembly in New York on Thursday.

The two ministers discussed the bilateral relationship and regional developments of mutual concern and interest, a brief statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kabul said. 

Rassoul underscored the important role of Muslim countries, under the guidance of Saudi Arabia, in supporting the Afghan people’s quest for peace, including through the peace process.

The Saudi minister assured Rassoul of the kingdom’s support and continued assistance to Afghanistan, the statement said, without giving further details of the meeting.
