KABUL centres in remote parts of northern Samangan province.
Funded by the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), the Basic Health Centres (BHCs) in Bayanan and Waybolaq villages of Dara-i-Sauf Payeen and Dara-e-Sauf Bala districts.
Dara-i-Sauf Bala is located 135 kilometers southeast of Aibak, the provincial capital. The road leading there has been built by the local community and only small vehicles could drive to the project site.
The BHC in Waybolaq village was constructed at a cost of around 9 million afghanis. The project was launched in May this year and took five months to complete, a statement from SCA said.
Similarly, the SCA engineering unit completed the construction work on the BHC in Bayanan at a cost of 8 million afghanis. Dara-e-Sauf Payeen is located 117 kilometers west of Aibak.
Each has five rooms, delivery rooms, toilets, generator rooms, guard rooms, water supply, electricity systems and septic tanks. Both buildings have around 400 metres surrounding walls.
