2 police killed in Faryab explosion

MAIMANA (PAN): Two border police officials were killed and nine others wounded in a bomb explosion in the Qaisar district of western Faryab province on Friday noon.

Abdul Jamil Siddiqui, the district’s administrative head, told Pajhwok Afghan News the bomb had been attached to a bicycle parked in the Chechkato bazaar.

He said the device exploded at 11am when police were patrolling the area. Two policemen were killed and nine civilians injured in the blast, for which there was no immediate claim of responsibility.
