KABUL on Saturday, the alliance said.

One NATO-led service member was shot dead by an alleged contracted security guard, the multinational force said in a brief statement.

“The scene of the incident is secure and the suspected gunman has been killed. ISAF and Afghan officials are assessing the incident…” it added.

A second foreign soldier died as a result of a non-battle-related injury in the south, ISAF said, without giving the victim’s nationality or the exact location.

So far during the current year, 136 international troops have been killed in Afghanistan. The US military has borne the brunt of the fatalities, losing 105 soldiers.
