Pair linked to suicide attacks detained: NDS

KABUL): Police have detained two individuals allegedly involved in a series of suicide attacks on government officials in northeastern Takhar province, the spy service said on Tuesday.

The National Directorate of Security (NDS) identified the detainees as Qari Khalil and Haji Bashir, residents of Taloqan, Takhar’s capital. The pair was involved in various suicide attacks against government officials, it said in a statement.

A suicide vest, nine bombs, a remote-control explosive device, some explosives and bomb-making materials were recovered from the detainees, the intelligence agency added.
