FAIZABAD (PAN): Unidentified gunmen broke into a house overnight and shot dead two members of a family and injured a third in northeastern Badakhshan province, police said on Saturday.
The incident took place late on Friday night in Sar Asyab village of Baharak district, said
Syed Jahangir Karamat, the provincial police chief.
He told Pajhwok Afghan News the dead included an 18-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl. A third family member was injured in the gun-attack.
The district chief, Naqibullah Bariz, said police had arrested two neighbours of the family as part of their investigation into the case, but the motive was yet to be ascertained.
