GHAZNI (PAN): Residents have killed an individual who attacked a passenger coach carrying wedding guests with a remote-controlled bomb in southern Ghazni province, an official said on Monday.

Eighteen civilians, including 14 women-infested Andar district.

A tribal elder, Saranwal Haibat Shah, told Pajhwok Afghan News the suspected attacker was seized with a remote-control device by residents in a garden in the area soon after the blast. The attacker was killed by angry locals.

Twelve women, three children and as many men were killed in the bombing in Sahib Khan village, according to Shah, who said of the five women injured in the attack were in critical condition.

Mohammad Qasim Desiwal, the administrative head of Andar, confirmed 14 women, three men and a child were among the 18 killed. Five injured women had been transferred to Kabul for better medical treatment, he said.

Ander district witnessed a public uprising, involving residents of Sahib Khan village, against the Taliban a year ago. The town is located 30 kilometres south of the provincial capital.
