Paktika mosque bomb kills 3 policemen

SHARAN (PANinfo-icon): The Afghan Local Police (ALP) members were killed and a fourth wounded by a bomb placed inside a mosqueinfo-icon in southeastern Paktika province, an official said on Sunday.

The explosive device had been placed in a mosque in the Sehgani village of Khairkot district, the provincial police chief, Brig. Gen. Dawlat Khan Zadran, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said the bomb went off on Saturday night when the ALP personnel entered the mosque. Three of them were killed, one wounded and the mosque partially damaged in the blast.

Area resident Khalid verified the explosion and casualties. However, he gave no further details. No one has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
