KABUL): Police detained a dozen people on different charges in various parts of the central capital Kabul, the Ministry of Interior said on Monday.
The ministry’s counter-crime department in a statement said the individuals had been detained on charges of smuggling arms, drugs and selling alcoholic drinks and having fake car licenses.
The statement said the 12 men were detained over the past 24 hours in first, second, third and fifth police districts of Kabul City.
Not going into details, the statement said the detainees were being interrogated by police.
The statement continued 10 vehicles loaded with commercial goods were impounded on entry to Kabul after not paying customs duty and referred to the authorities concerned.
Police in Nimroz province had arrested 10 individuals allegedly involved in car-lifting, robberies on highways and other criminal activities, the statement said.
