KABUL of their children and ensure their admission to school.     

In his radio address, Karzai said: “Efforts should be made to motivate our children to go to school, because kids can learn swiftly. Families should focus on their children’s studies and provide them a level playing field to obtain education.”

At times, the president said, hard labour was difficult for youth and impossible for children. Families should not assign heavy work to their children, who suffered negative mental and physical impact, he added.

Karzai said it was the duty of all people to promote children and human rights and make sure that children were not missing their education while working.

“It is a prime responsibility of NGOs to ensure protection of children’s rights and avoid their abuse in various working places,” he added.
