KABUL in Kabul, on Thursday urged religious leaders of different schools of thought to work for harmony and co-existence.
The Hazara community leader said he had held a series of meetings with people from various parts of the country to emphasise on the need for unity and solidarity among different sects. He insisted there had been no sectarian strife in the country.
He said the 30 years old conflict had left the Afghans backward and fragmented. There was a need for national unity to reconstruct the country.
Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai, a potential presidential candidate, also spoke on the occasion and said the Day of Ashura was marked to differentiate between tyranny and truth.
