KUNDUZ CITY (PAN): Two policemen were wounded, one of them seriously, in a bomb explosion the Khanabad district of northern Kunduz province on Friday, an official said.

Police spokesman Col. Sarwar Hussaini told Pajhwok Afghan News the bomb attached to a police vehicle went off in Kunduz City at 4pm, damaging the pick-up.

One policeman received serious injuries in the high-intensity explosion, he added. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast.

Giving an eyewitness account, shopkeeper Abdul Latif said two policemen and as many civilians were injured. One policeman succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital, he claimed.
