KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): Militants have killed the six people they kidnapped in the Arghistan district of southern Kandahar province, officials said on Sunday.
Zia Durrani, provincial police spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the victims were civilians looking for work. They had been kidnapped in Arghistan on their way from Atghar to Maroof district.
He said the government had no information on the captives’ whereabouts for the past few days. The victims’ beheaded bodies were found in Safa district of Zabul province last night.
Arghistan district chief, Haji Abdul Ghani Muslimyar, said the murdered men were army officers in civilian clothes and without guns.
But the Kandahar governor’s spokesman, Javed Fiasal, said the slain men were common labourers abducted by the militants between Arghistan and Seori district of Zabul.
