KABUL and the United States.

On Sunday, the grand tribal assembly overwhelmingly approved the security pact by issuing a 31-aritcle declaration that asked the US to set up courts at its bases in the country to try American troops accused of committing crimes in Afghanistan.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the insurgent group’s spokesman, said: “As we have stated earlier, the forum of tribal elders in Kabul has been arranged to safeguard American objectives. All attendees were government officials, whose lacked decision-making freedom.”

In a statement, the Taliban spokesman claimed that participants of the event and the Afghan government had endorsed the deal to protect ensure their personal interests.

On the final day of the gathering 50 committees, featuring 2,500 delegates, called for the early signing of the accord. Each committee submitted its list of revisions and clarifications to the draft agreement.
