KABUL should not be affected because of a trust deficit between the two neighbouring countries.

ACCI deputy head Khan Jan Alokozai was speaking to journalists with a group of Pakistani trader representatives at a news conference about a three day joint exhibition begining in Kabul on Thursday with Afghan and Pakistani industrial products on display.

Alokozai said 70 percent problems concerning transit trade between Afghanistan and Pakistan had been resolved.

“Such joint exhibitions extend trade relations. A three-day joint show is planned for Thursday,” he said, explaining Afghan traders would put on display dried fruits, carpets and precious stones. The Pakistani side would showcase food items, construction materials, fresh fruits and dried fruits.

Pakistan’s Rawalpindi President of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dr Shumail Dawood, who attended the press conference, said it was his second time visiting Kabul. “Joint shows are opportunities where we can improve our business relations,” he said.

“Pakistan and Afghanistan are two brotherly nations, they need to improve their trade relations,” Dawood said, hinting at a joint exhibition in Pakistan in few days.
