JALALABAD (PAN): A US-led coalition forces’ surveillance plane crashed in the Chaparhar district of eastern Nangarhar province on Saturday noon, an official said.
The pilot-less spy plane went down in the Ghulam Dak area, the district chief, Haji Mohammad Sadiq Daulatzai, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
“We have been informed about the crash by the airbase,” the official said, adding they had been told the plane crashed after developing a technical fault.
But the Taliban claimed they shot down the American spy plane in Lalma area a day ago.
A resident of the area, Akbar Khan, told Pajhwok Afghan News the plane crashed in their area, but it remained unclear if it had been shot down by insurgents.
