KABUL’s Human Rights Commission (AHRC) chief Seema Samar on Wednesday said the government had no choice but to sign the bilateral security agreement (BSA) with the US.
Samar told reporters in Kabul that Afghanistan was not in a position, where it could maintain security on its own and run its affairs without financial assistance from foreign countries.
She warned the country could plunge into deep political and financial crises if the deal was not signed. She said Afghanistan would continue to require assistance so far extended by countries, especially the US.
President Karzai refused to sign the deal last month when a Loya Jirga asked him to do so over the next seven weeks.
