KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): A three-day seminar involving district police chiefs from across the country began in Kabul on Monday with focus on the national force neutrality during the April elections.

A statement issued by the ministry said a number of parliamentarians, civil societyinfo-icon activists and foreign delegates are attending the seminar.

The event would help district police commanders improve their capacity and get raining how to be impartial during the landmark elections.

Deputy Interior Minister for Administration Maj. Gen Ekramuddin Yawar, said the ministry identified an impartial police force during the elections a priority.

Lawmakers, who attended the police seminar, appreciated the interior ministry for asking the police to stay neutral during the elections process, the statement said.

It added United Nations officials at the seminar called improvements the Afghan police force had achieved so far as significant and vowed their support.
