KABUL): Dr. Mohammad Akram Khpalwak, the minister of tribal and border affairs, on Thursday asked tribal elders to shun their differences and forge greater unity in their ranks.

Afghanistan was one and united nation and would never be allowed to disintegrate, he vowed, stressing the need for national unity as the country passed through a critical stage.

He lauded the role of tribal councils in striving to build consensus and unity among various tribes. The role of tribes-people was vital to peace and stability in the country.

Khpalwak minister urged mutual trust and understanding among Afghans at a time when differences among various ethnic groups had witnessed a surge.
