GHAZNI CITY (PAN): Girl students of a high school on Thursday staged a protest demonstration in this capital city of southern Ghazni province against the disappearance of cards for a university entry test.
Nearly 200 students of the Tawhidabad Girls’ High School took part in the rally, asking the provincial education department to find the missing cards and give them their right.
One of the protesting girls, Shabana, said they had been issued with alternative IDs — not the real cards, which had gone missing. She warned if they were not given original cards, they would not take the exams.
Another student, Rahima, said cards of 50 girls had disappeared at the Ministry of Higher Education. The newly issued IDs did not match the original ones, she claimed.
She said IDs of new cards could not be found on the ministry’s website. She warned of continued protests if their problem was not resolved.
Education Director Mohammad Abid Abid also said around 48 cards of the Tawhidabad School had been missing. But efforts were underway to find them, he concluded.
