Police seize 286kg of opium in Baghlan

PUL-I-KHUMRI (PANinfo-icon): Police seized 286 kilograms of drugs concealed in wheat bags in northern Baghlan province on Monday.

The drugs were recovered from a truck intercepted at a police check post in Pul-i-Khumri, the provincial capital, the provincial police chief said.

Lt. Gen. Aminullah Amarkhel told Pajhwok Afghan News the opium was destined for Kabulinfo-icon.

He said police had detained the driver and the truck moved to the police headquarters.
