4 dead, 41 injured in road accident

KABUL (Pajhwok): Four passengers were killed and 41 others injured on Wednesday when the bus they were travelling in overturned in central Maidan Wardak province, an official said.

Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the accident occurred in Dasht-i-Tope locality on the outskirts of Syedabad district on the Kabul- Kandahar highway.

The passenger bus was heading to Kandahar from Kabul, he said, adding the injured were rushed to Maidan City and Kabul hospitals but nine of them were in critical condition.

Officials in Maidan Wardak had issued a circular, asking drivers to drive carefully amid snowfall to avert further traffic accidents.
