Militants among 5 shot to death in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (Pajhwok): Three militants and two civilians were killed on Friday in separate attacks in Pakistanis port city of Karachi and the Mardaninfo-icon district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, officials said.

The insurgents, including the Tehrik-i-Talibaninfo-icon Pakistaninfo-icon’s chief for Karachi Amanullah Mehsud, were killed in a police encounter in Musharraf Colony, police said.

Mehsud was eliminated along with Mirza Ali and Sher Mohammad, a day after a powerful explosion claimed the life of senior police official Chaudhry Aslam Khan.

In Future Colony area, a local leader of the Awami National Party (ANP) was injured when unknown men attacked his house with a hand grenade.

In the restive northwest, gunmen shot two workers to death at a small Sufi shrine. The victims’ bodies were found at Ghazi Shah Baba’s tomb in Mardan.
