KABUL Cup in Bangladesh, officials said on Tuesday.

Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB)’s spokesman Farid Hotak told Pajhwok Afghan News the side would reach Sri Lanka on January 23.

He said the players would receive training from Indian and Sri Lankan coaches in the presence of their Pakistani coach Kabir Khan.

The players would learn new techniques in all departments of the game including batting, bowling and fielding at the camp, Hotak said.

ACB chief executive Dr. Noor Mohammad Murad said Sri Lanka was a decent choice because the country’s weather conditions matched those of Bangladesh, which will host the event from March 16 to April 6.

Expert Zarab Shah Zaheer lauded the ACB decision to arrange the training camp in Sri Lanka.

He told Pajhwok Afghan News the practice session would help the players to better prepare themselves for the mega event.
