Senate ratifies cooperation accord with Saudi

KABUL and Saudi Arabia.

Senator Najiba Hussaini told the upper house the accord had been signed by foreign ministers of the two countries in April 2013.

Under the agreement, she said the two countries would cooperate with each other in areas of commerce, economy, investment, education and other sectors.

A majority of lawmakers raised green cards to endorse the 9-article agreement, which has already been ratified by the Wolesi Jirga or lower house.
