KABUL (Pajhwok): A young journalist, Mohammad Shahid Naeemi, lost his life to Sunday’s suicide attack in Kabul. At least four people were killed and 22 others wounded in the bombing.
The Afghanistan Journalists Cenete (AFJC) said Naeemi was killed as the attacker detonated his suicide vest near an army vehicle in the Kart-i-Naw area of the eighth police district.
A statement from AFJC quoted Salma Suri, the director of Nawa Radio Station and Sabah TV channel, as saying that Naeemi was waiting for a taxi when the bomber struck.
According to Suri, Naeemi was a student of literature at the Kabul University. He was hired as producer at Nawa Radio a couple of months ago.
Based on information from the Ministry of Defence, the attacker targeted a bus carrying Afghan National Army (ANA) staff to work. Two civilians and two ANA soldiers were killed.
