WASHINGTON (Pajhwok): A top American diplomat is visiting Kabul to discuss with his Afghan counterparts issues related to counter-narcotics measures and the criminal justice system.

While in Afghanistan, Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) William R Brownfield will meet senior government officials to discuss counternarcotics and criminal justice assistance.

Brownfield, who arrived in Afghanistan on January 25, would  stay in the country till January 28, the State Department said in a brief statement.

“Brownfield will also participate in events that demonstrate our continued commitment to building the capacity of Afghan criminal justice institutions and supporting Afghan efforts to reduce both the supply of, and demand for, illicit drugs.”
